Mary Ellen (Brem) Rawson, 79, of Toronto, OH, passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2016 in the Trinity Medical Center West in Steubenville, OH.

Mary Ellen was born Oct. 11, 1937 in Toronto, daughter of the late John F. and Jean A. (Brown) Brem.

She was an active member of St. Francis Roman Catholic Church in Toronto and a 1955 graduate of Toronto High School. Mary Ellen worked as a cashier for many years at the former Staceys IGA grocery store in Toronto.

Mary Ellen loved spending time with her family including her grandchildren and her great-grandsons and she was known as Grammy to many.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Sonny Rawson who passed in 2012, her sister, Loretta Brem and her infant sister, Kathleen Brem.

Mary Ellen leaves behind her two daughters, Julie Rawson (AJ Sturgis) of Ashland, OH and Mary Lynn (Steve) Lewis of Toronto; her two grandchildren, Shane (Rachel) Lewis and Morgan (Adam) Starr both of Toronto and her three great-grandsons, S.J., Mitch and Sammy.

Visitation will be held on Friday, Dec. 2 from 3-7 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home 701 Findley St. in Toronto. A Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be held on Saturday at 10:30 am at St. Francis Church in Toronto followed by a funeral luncheon. There will be additional visitation on Saturday morning in the rear of the church from 9:30 am til the time of the Mass. A Vigil Service will be held on Friday at the funeral home at 3 pm.
