Mary Volney, 91, of Smithfield, OH, passed away Thursday, July 12, 2018 at the Lancia Villa Royale Nursing Home in Steubenville, OH.

Mary was born May 23, 1927 in Smithfield, daughter of the late Angelo and Teresa (Baldoni) Bettineschi.

She was a homemaker and had worked at the former Cavalier Pharmacy in Smithfield.

Mary was a member of the former Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Smithfield.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Volney who passed June 21, 2008, her sister, Yolanda Polozzi and her brother, John Bettineschi.

Surviving is her son, Joseph R. (Diane) Volney of Smithfield; her sister, Agnes (Ervan) Short of Gallipolis, OH; her step-granddaughter, Brandy Arnett; her five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Marys wishes were to be cremated. There will be an inurnment service held at Holly Memorial Gardens at the convenience of her family.
