Matthew Owens Hannan, 55, of Weirton, WV, formerly of Toronto, OH, passed away Thursday July 6, 2023, in the Weirton Medical Center in Weirton, WV.

Matt was born July 25, 1967, son of the late John T. and Edith L. (Owens) Hannan.

He was currently working as a computer engineer with Transharpe Solutions LLC, In Charlotte, NC.

Matt co-founded the website and was a webmaster for Toronto-in-Focus in 1999. He also helped create the non-profit Focus-in-Toronto.

Matt was a Veteran of the US Air Force. He served as a Staff Sergeant in the Seventh Tactical Fighter Wing during Operation Desert Storm.

In addition to his parents, Matt was preceded in death by an infant brother, Howard in 1963.

Surviving is his daughter, Chloe J. Hannan and her companion James Egana of Worcester, MA; three sisters, Kitty (Ray) Ferguson of Wintersville, OH, Amy (Mickey) McGrath of Toronto, and Jill (Gary) Wickham Bloomingdale, OH; brother J.T. Hannan of Toronto, and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Monday, July 10 from 3 PM to 5:30 PM at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto. Matts funeral service will follow at 5:30 PM with Rev. Kevin Rinkes officiating.

Memorial donations may be directed to the American Heart Assoc. or the Jefferson Co. Animal Shelter.
