Michael D. Pettengill, 80, of Cortland, OH, formerly of Toronto, OH, passed away Friday April 12, 2024, in the Hospice of the Valley in Poland, OH.

Mike was born Nov. 18, 1943, in Marion, OH, son of the late Lloyd D. and Liberty Lillian (Cutarelli) Pettengill.

Mike retired from Ohio Lamp GE in Warren, OH. He was a 1962 graduate of Toronto High School.

Mike served his country in the US Navy, during the Vietnam War, aboard the USS Ranger aircraft carrier and the USS Moale destroyer.

Mike is survived by two sisters, Michelle (Sherman) Billingsley of Toronto, and Maria (James) Reidy of Steubenville, OH, and two brothers, Monte (Diana) Pettengill and Marc (Betty) Pettengill both of Toronto.

Mikes wishes were to be cremated. A graveside service will be held Monday, April 22 at 10:30 AM at the Island Creek Cemetery in Toronto. Fr. Thomas Vennitti, the Patriot Guard, and the Toronto American Legion Post #86 Honor Guard will all participate.
