Patricia Louise Barbai, 93, of Smithfield, OH, passed away on Thursday, January 27 after a brief illness.

She was born in Bloomingdale, OH, on February 5, 1928, to the late John R. and Margaret (Whitten) Beveridge. She was a homemaker, and her family always came first.

She is survived by her daughter, Margaret Murdock of Smithfield, her grandchildren, who were the loves of her life, Kristin (Murdock) Breeze and husband Aaron of Reynoldsburg and Gregory and Dana Murdock of Crafton, PA. Patty was one of nine children and is survived by sisters Barbara Beveridge of Bloomingdale and Sandy (Bob) Mayerchak of Vermilion, sister-in-law Mary Jo Beveridge of Denison, TX and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

In addition to her parents, Pat was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Steve Barbai, son Gary, brothers John (Jack), Thomas (Tom), James (Jim) Beveridge, and sisters Margie Flemming, Dorothy Simmons, Mary Alice Heaston and special sister-in-law, Ruth Ann Kensicki.

Friends will be received Monday, January 31 from 11 am to 1 pm at the Smithfield Evangelical Friends Church in Smithfield, with the funeral service immediately following at 1 pm. Rev. Mark Carpino will officiate, and burial will follow in the Northern Cemetery, next to her husband and son.

Pat was a faithful and long-standing member of Smithfield Evangelical Friends Church and Norma Freer Missionary Society. Memorial contributions can be sent to the church P.O. Box 482 Smithfield, OH 43948.
