Perry Richard Toney, 74 of Bloomingdale, Ohio passed away Friday March 29, 2007 in UPMCPresbyterianHospital in Pittsburgh, Pa. Perry was born April 23, 1932 in Chandler, Ohio; son of the late Rev. Oliver Richard and Arite Linear Toney. Perry worked for many years in construction and cement work and retired from the Diocese of Steubenville, working for many years in the maintenance Dept. at the Steubenville Arena. He was a member of the Shaffer Chapel A.M.E. Church in McIntyre and he was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War, serving in the 101St. Air Division as a Mortar Operator and received the Purple Heart. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Gloria Brown Toney in 1989 and by his niece Sharonda Renee Toney.Surviving are his sister Valjean (James) Dokes of Steubenville, his brother William Harvey Toney of Bloomingdale, his niece Denise Dokes of Steubenville, nephew Timothy Toney of Columbus, two great-nieces Nichelle and Vanessa Dokes of Steubenville. Friends and family may call on Monday evening from 6 -8 pm. at the J.E. Foster Funeral Homes, Inc. 107 Hill St. in Smithfield. Services will be held on Tuesday morning at the ShafferChapelA.M.E.Church in McIntyre, with Rev.
