PietroFilippi,85of Piney Fork, passed away Monday March 20, 2006 in the Valley Hospice Palliative Care Unit in Steubenville.He was born May 12, 1920 in Italy, son of the late Celeste and Maria Marcolina Filippi. He was a retired coal miner employed by Consolidated Coal Co., a member of St. Adalbert Roman Catholic Church in Dillonvale, and was a former member of the Jefferson Sportsman Club. Pietro is survived by his wife of 54 years Lena (Roman) Filippi, whom he married on Sept. 1st., 1951, two daughters; Arleen (Alan) Broemson of Piney Fork and Jo-Ann (Darrell) Keeton of Wintersville; his Granddaughter, Lesley Broemson of Wintersville, three step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and his brother, Lou (Irma) Filippi of Smithfield.Friends and family may call on Thursday2-4 and 7-9 pm. at theJ. E. FOSTER FUNERAL HOMES, INC., 107Hill St.Smithfield; visitation will also take place on Friday morning at St. Adalbert's Church in Dillonvale from 9:15 am. up til time of his Funeral Liturgy with Mass which is at 10:00 am.Msgr. John Kolesar will be the Celebrant and burial will follow in NorthernCemetery in Smithfield.Vigil service will be on Thursday afternoon at 3:30 pm.
