Richard P. Rick Beetle Bailey, 67, of Toronto, OH, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2022, in the Trinity Medical Center West in Steubenville, OH.

Rick was born Jan. 29, 1955, in Steubenville, son of the late Edward and Ellen (Braley) Bailey.

In May of 2018 Rick retired from the First Energy Sammis Plant where he was an Electrician.

Rick was a Veteran of the US Army. He was a 41-year member of the Toronto Vol. Fire Dept., and he was a volunteer driver for TEMS. Rick was a member of the Toronto Fraternal Order of Eagles #1276, Methodist by faith, former member of the Jaycees, involved with the Special Olympics, and coached his daughters on their youth softball teams.

In addition to his parents, Rick was preceded in death by two sisters, Judy Waddell and Roberta Scoggins.

He leaves behind his wife, Deborah D. Debbie (Gossage) Bailey, whom he married Dec. 20, 1975; two daughters, Amanda Bailey of Toronto, and Abby Bailey of Westerville, OH; several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received Sunday, May 15 from 1 pm to 5 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto where his funeral service will be held Monday at 11 am. Rev. Kevin Rinkes will officiate, and burial will follow in the Island Creek Cemetery in Toronto. Military honors will be presented at the cemetery by the Toronto American Legion Post #86.
