Richard Lee Garlinger, 68, of Steubenville, OH, passed away on Sunday Sept. 21, 2025, in the Alleghany General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.

Richard was born March 11, 1957, in Martins Ferry, OH, son of the late Charles and Gladys (Leatherman) Garlinger.

He worked for 42 years in operations at the Cardinal Plant in Brilliant, OH, retiring in 2019. Richard loved to travel and spend time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Lorrie Crouthers.

Surviving are two daughters, Angela Garlinger and Amber Garlinger, both of Smithfield, OH; two brothers, Chuck (Mary Carol) Garlinger of Hopedale, OH, and John Garlinger; five grandchildren, Isaac (Jaycee) Shuppas, Isaiah (Shylee) Shuppas, Brooklynne Garlinger and companion Brandon, Ashten Antigo and companion Maddie Gill, and Shaylee Antigo; two great-grandchildren, Adelaide Trickett and Hawthorne Shuppas.

Richard's wishes were to be cremated, with no public services observed. His arrangements are in the care of the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Smithfield, OH.
