Richard L. "Rich" Malone, 75, of Bloomingdale, OH, passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2025, in the WVU Weirton Medical Center in Weirton, WV.

Rich was born Oct. 1, 1949, in Martins Ferry, OH, son of the late William B. and Thelma I. (Stone) Malone. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Bruce Malone, nephew Brian Malone, and father-in-law, James "Jim" Crawford.

He was a Veteran of the US Navy having served his country in the Vietnam War. Rich was formerly employed as a Safety Control Officer with Bulldog Rack in Weirton. Prior to Bulldog Rack, he worked at Excel Mining in Cadiz, OH.

Rich was a 1968 graduate of Smithfield High School. His memberships included the Smithfield Methodist Church, Smithfield Masonic Lodge #182, Piney Fork American Legion Post #735, and a former member of the Bloomingdale Fire & EMS.

Rich leaves behind his wife, Cindy L. (Crawford) Malone, whom he married June 11, 1977; niece, Bethany Malone Meyers, great-nephew, Mitchell Meyers, and sister-in-law, Cynthia Malone, all of Ft. Wayne, IN; mother-in-law, Joan Crawford of Toronto, OH.

Visitation will take place on Saturday, April 5 from 11 AM to 2 PM at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Smithfield, OH. Masonic and funeral services will start at 2 PM with Military Honors to follow, all at the funeral home. Burial will take place in the Bloomingdale Cemetery.
