Richard T. Shevelow, Sr., 86, of Toronto, OH, passed away Monday, Dec. 6, 2021, at his home.

Rich was born August 21, 1935, in Toronto, son of the late Frank and Daisy (Shepherd) Shevelow.

He retired from the Titanium Metals Corp. in Toronto with 44 years of service, where he was a member of USW Local 5644. Rich also was a Veteran of the US Army and was stationed in Europe.

Rich was a 1953 graduate of Toronto High School, where he ran on the record setting 4x220 yard relay team. He was a big fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes, Ted Williams, and Jim Brown, as well as his sons and grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Rich was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Eleanor Sis (Hickey) Shevelow; siblings, Lillian Shevelow, Rosemary (Don) Smith, Olga (Jim) Stone, George (Jane) Shevelow, and Sam Shevelow.

Rich leaves behind three sons, Richard T., Jr. and wife Sandy of Estero, FL, Dan and wife Pam of Toronto, and Doug and wife Gretchen of Pickerington, OH; sister-in-law, Mary Shevelow of Toronto; grandchildren, Justin (Benoit) Shevelow, Lindsay (Scott) Irving, Drew Shevelow, Emily Shevelow, Nathan (Shelby) Shevelow; great-grandchildren, Nora, Elliott, Avery, and Hudson.

Family and friends will be received Thursday morning from 9 to 11 AM at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto. A private burial will follow in the Toronto Union Cemetery. Masks at the funeral home are strongly recommended.
