Robert J. 'Bob' Fullerton, 90, of Toronto, OH, passed away Friday Jan 2, 2026, under hospice care at his daughter's home.
Bob was born September 21, 1935, in Toronto, son of the late Samuel and Alice (Donahue) Fullerton. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Ruth Chevalier; five brothers, Eugene 'Bud', William, Jim, Richard 'Sam', and Walter, and his longtime companion, Sarah Shimmel.
He was retired from Labor Local #809 in Steubenville, OH. He was an avid fisherman; he loved dogs and was the neighborhood handyman.
Bob was a Veteran of the US Army having served his country from November of 1958 to November of 1960.
He is survived by his daughter, Rebecca 'Becky' Latynski and husband Terry, with whom Bob resided in Hammondsville, OH; his grandson, Zachary Latynski and wife Lanie of Coshocton, OH and their children, Evelyn, Eliana, Ezra, and Esme'; five sisters, Jackie Williamson, Janet Morrow, twin sister, Beverly Owens, and Carol Long, all of Toronto, and Rosalie McIntyre of Myrtle Beach, SC, and brother, Ronald of Toronto. He also leaves behind his long-time companion's sons, Jim Shimmel and Joe (Jill) Shimmel, both of Toronto, and Bob (Susan) Shimmel of Richmond, OH, and all of their children who he loved as his own.
Visitation is Tuesday, January 6 from 4–7 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto. Bob's service will follow at 7 pm, led by Bob's daughter, Rebecca J. Latynski. A private burial will take place on Wednesday in the Toronto Union Cemetery. www.jefosterfh.com
