Robert McDonald Higgins, 90, of Toronto, OH, passed away Sat. June 28, 2014 in Sienna Woods Nursing Home in Wintersville, OH. Bob was born Nov. 3, 1923 in Steubenville, OH, son of the late Dallas and Anna McDonald Higgins. Bob was retired from Weirton Steel Corp., where he worked in the diesel shop. Bob loved to play golf. He also served his country during WWII in the U.S. Army. In addition to his parents Bob was preceded in death by his sister Margaret Edwards. Surviving is his wife of 65 years, Edith Mae (Young) Higgins, whom he married on July 1, 1949; his two sons, Thomas Higgins of Toronto and James Higgins of Columbus, OH. Visitation for Bob will be held on Tuesday July 1, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the J. E. Foster Funeral Home, Inc. 701 Findley St. Toronto, OH. Burial will be held at the convenience of Bob's family.
