Robert A. Bob Leonard, 78, of Toronto, OH, passed away Saturday Feb. 18, 2017 in Trinity Medical Center West in Steubenville, OH.

Bob was born Sept. 20, 1938 in Toronto, son of the late Andrew Anthony and Martha Ann (Trudics) Leonard.

He was retired from First Energy Corp., the former Toronto Power Plant. Prior to retirement, Bob worked for many years as a mechanic for Starrs SOHIO Service at Third and Main St. in Toronto.

Bob was a Veteran of the US Navy, a member of the NRA and he loved to support Veterans whenever he could.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his step-father, Pete Cooper.

Surviving are his three sisters, Sister Martha Leonard of Steubenville, OH, Betty (Neil) Cich of Raleigh, NC and Kathy (John) Penrod of Alliance, OH; five brothers, Andrew (Pam) Leonard of Thomasboro, IL, Paul P. Cooper of Bloomingdale, OH, Will Cooper of Richmond, OH, Donald Cooper of Toronto and Tom Cooper of Alliance, OH; also several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday Feb. 22, 2017 from 4-8 pm at the J. E. Foster Funeral Home 701 Findley St. in Toronto. A vigil Service offered by Fr. Thomas Vennitti will be held at 3:45 pm.

Thursday morning the family will gather at 10 am to pay their final respects followed by burial in Toronto Union Cemetery.
