Obituary

Robert Joseph Petras; Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather and Brother, 74 of Loretta Ave. Toronto, Ohio passed away Friday evening at Trinity Medical Center West. Bob was born Sept. 17, 1930 in Toronto; son of the late John Edward and Mary Garish Petras. Bob was a retired employee of Sears and Roebuck Co., working there for 45 years in the Home Improvement Dept. Bob was a life long member of St. Francis Roman Catholic Church in Toronto, he sang in the Church Funeral Choir, was a Lecture, a Eucharistic Minister in the Church, Hospitals, and Nursing Homes, was involved in the R.C.I.A. of the church and loved leading the Rosary in the church. He also was involved in the Sears Retirees group, The Catholic Central High School Alumni Assoc., was an ardent photographer, and loved to travel. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by; His wife, Elmina "El" McCloskey Petras, whom he married on March 16, 1951 and who passed away on April 20, 2002, and by his sister Mary Ann and her husband Joe Birmingham. Surviving are his children; Mary K. Petras; Robert Edward and his wife Debbie Petras, Judy Koehnlein and her husband Tom; Elaine Morris and her husband Paul all of Toronto. Nine Grandchildren; Severine Petras, Krista Koehnlein and; Brian, Ryan Koehnlein and; Megan, Holly Watkins and Joe, Robert E. Petras Jr. and; Brandi, Joseph and James Morris, Johnny Koehnlein and Michaliah Koehnlein. Two Great- Grandchildren; Avery and Seth Watkins. One Sister; Elizabeth (Evan) Fedash of Martins Ferry, one Brother; John Edward (Claudia) Petras Jr. of Royal Oak, MI., Brother-in-law Ray Lawrence of Wintersville and several Nieces and Nephews. Friends and Family may call on Monday evening from 7-9 pm. and on Tuesday from 2-4 pm. at the J.E.Foster Funeral Home, Inc.701 Findley St. Toronto. Tuesday Evening friends and family may call from 7-9 pm. at the St. Francis Catholic Church located at the corner of Findley and Euclid Ave. in Toronto; and on Wednesday morning from 9:15 am. up til Bob's Funeral Liturgy with Mass which is at 10:00 am. Msgr. Kurt Kemo will be the Celebrant. Burial will follow in Toronto Union Cemetery. Vigil services will be Tuesday Evening at 8:00 pm. at the Church.
