Roberta Joan "Jo" Weidger, 70, of Toronto, Ohio passed away Thursday Sept. 24th 2009 in TMCW in Steubenville. Jo was born December 24, 1938 in Toronto, daughter of the late John C. "Yappy" and Wilda Muriel Flowers Smith. Jo was formerly employed at the former G.C. Murphy 5&10 in Toronto, the former Golden Crown Grocery Store in Toronto, and Toronto and Weirton Bowling Lanes. She was a member of the Toronto 1st. Presbyterian Church, where she was a member of the Choir, Rebekah Lodge #782, Independent Order of the Odd Fellows, Ohio Past President Ladies of the Grand Army of the Republic, Past President of the Toronto Band Parents and was a 1956 graduate of T.H.S. In addition to her parents, Jo was preceded in death by her son, Jeffery Alan Weidger in 1969, Maternal Grandparents Emmett and Ethel Dott Flowers, and Paternal Grandparents Harry "Yappy" and Dorothy Minto Smith. Surviving are her husband Daniel E. "Danny" Weidger, whom she married on June 11, 1957, her son John Edward "Ed" and his wife Rita Weidger of Toronto, three Grandchildren Jennifer and her husband Chris Brown, Danielle Weidger, Jeffery Weidger all of Toronto and the newest addition to her family Great Granddaughter Jaylee Nicole Brown, born Wednesday Sept. 16th. Also surviving are Jo's two aunts Ruth (Harry) Machnov of California and Mary Fisher of Toronto. Friends and family may call on Sunday from 12 noon til 3:00 pm. and 6 to 8 pm. Services for Jo will be held on Monday at 1:00 pm. at the Funeral Home. Rev. Michael Bongart will provide the Service and burial will follow in Toronto Union Cemetery.
