Robin Shimmel, 62, of Toronto, OH, passed away Sunday, January 12, 2020 at her home.

Robin was born May 29, 1957 in Steubenville, OH, daughter of the late Harold and Ann (Wirth) Hayes.

She retired, with 20 years of service, as an administrative assistant with Bolger Health Care in Steubenville. Robin was a 1975 graduate of Toronto High School.

In addition to her parents, Robin was preceded in death by three sisters, Lois Hughes, Marsha Hayes and Janelle Hayes.

Robin leaves behind her husband of 43 years, James A. Shimmel; her son, James A. Shimmel, Jr. of Steubenville; her daughter, Megan (Brian) Koniski of Wintersville, OH; her grandson who was the light of her life, Noah Koniski and her sister, Victoria Hayes Mehalik of FL.

Friends and family will be received Wednesday, Jan. 15 from 4 to 8 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto where her funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 am. Becky Latynski will officiate, and burial will follow in the Toronto Union Cemetery. www.jefosterfh.com
