Rodney W. Russell, 85, of Irondale, OH, passed away Wednesday, February 04, 2015 in Trinity Medical Center West ER in Steubenville, OH.

Rodney was born Feb. 20, 1929 in Irondale, son of the late Arthur Raymond and Mary (Withrow) Russell.

He was a member of Port Homer Community Church and he was retired from Crucible Steel in Midland, PA.

Rodney also was a Veteran of the US Army having served his country during the Korean Conflict.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Donna Hancock.

Rodney leaves behind his wife, Gertrude L. (Vandyke) Russell of home whom he married January 26, 1953; his three children, Theresa Keeder of Irondale, twins, Ron Russell of Bellaire, OH and Connie (Jerry) Westlake of Salineville, OH; two sisters, Evelyn Householder of Hammondsville, OH and Mary White of California. He is also survived by two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation for Rodney will be held on Friday, Feb. 6 from 4-7 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto, OH. His funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11 am at the funeral home with Doug Snyder officiating. Burial will follow in Hammondsville Cemetery in Hammondsville, OH.
