Roger Lyle Burdick, 64, of Toronto, OH, passed away Monday Dec. 8, 2014 in Trinity Medical Center West in Steubenville, OH.

He was born Nov. 30, 1950 in Steubenville, son of Katherine Louise Gerard Burdick who survives and the late Glenn Burdick.

Roger was a licensed optician for the Shannon Safety Products in Bridgeville, PA. He also worked at Lens Crafters in St. Clairsville, OH. Roger served as Pastor of the Bloomingdale Church of God for 5 years. He attended Finley United Methodist Church in Steubenville.

Roger served his country during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Navy as a Hospital Corpsman for 22 years.

Surviving is his wife, Susan E. (Pinkerton) Burdick, whom he married on April 23, 1994; his mother, Louise Burdick who resides at Gable Care Center in Hopedale, OH; his children, Rhonda Strawser of Toronto, Melinda (Doug) Misenhelder of Follansbee, WV, Matthew (Amy) Burdick of Weirton, WV and Stefanie Burdick of Steubenville; his step-children, David (Victoria) Sabo Jr. of Hawaii, Michelle McAllister of Canton, OH and Pamela (Shaun) Summers of Shippensburg, PA; his two brothers, Terry (Sharon) Burdick of Smithfield, OH and David Burdick of Steubenville; his five grandchildren.

Visitation for Roger will be held on Wednesday Dec. 10, 2014 from 3-8 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home 701 Findley St. in Toronto. A Celebration of Rogers Life Service will be held on Thursday at 11 am at the funeral home and his burial will take place at the convenience of his family.

Full Military Honors will be provided by the Toronto American Legion Post # 86 following the service.
