Rosemary Rose (Dorow) Yanik, 76, a long-time resident of Toronto, OH, passed away Wednesday March 24, 2021 from a lengthy illness in Columbus, OH, with her family by her side.

Rose was born Oct. 19, 1944 in Steubenville, OH, daughter of the late Woodrow and Mary (Prokorym) Dorow.

Prior to her illness, Rose was a member and active volunteer at St. Francis Catholic Church in Toronto. She also volunteered for over 30 years for the Jefferson Co. Board of Elections. Rose and her late husband Pi were co-owners of the former Gridiron in Toronto. She loved spending time with her granddaughter, Riley, who meant the world to her. Rose was a big Cleveland Browns and Indians fan and she loved to make pizzelles.

In addition to her parents, Rose was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Thomas Pi Yanik, granddaughter Hailey Yanik and sister Julie Steiner.

Surviving are her two daughters, Lisa (Landon) Yanik, Maria (Greg) Meyer and her son, Thomas Pi Yanik, Jr. all of Columbus, OH; granddaughter, Riley Madison Yanik; brother-in-law, John Skrabak of Toronto and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be Sunday March 28, 2021 from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto. A Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be held Monday at 11 AM at St. Francis Catholic Church. There will be additional visitation Monday from 10 AM to 11 AM in the rear of the church. Fr. Thomas Vennitti will officiate and burial will be held at the convenience of her family in the Toronto Union Cemetery.
