Ruby Marie Fisher, 61, of Cadiz, OH, formerly of Toronto, OH, passed away Thursday Feb. 9, 2022, at her home.

Ruby was born May 28, 1960, in Steubenville, OH, daughter of the late Robert S. and Evelyn Lucille (Bohmer) Fisher.

Ruby Fisher was a valued, loved employee of the Harrison Co. Common Pleas Court, Community Corrections Office. She served in the position of Education Specialist full time for the past six years. Prior to this position, she worked for the Eastern Ohio Correction Center as an educator. Throughout her years in corrections work, she assisted thousands of individuals to make positive changes in their lives! Ruby was more than a coworker; she was a beloved friend and sister to all the Community Corrections and Court Staff. Submitted by her boss, John Jackson.

Judge T. Hervey reflected on Ruby saying, "Ruby Fisher was truly one of a kind. Smart, compassionate, and earnest. I could not have created a better employee for her position as Educator of the Harrison County Common Pleas Court. Her experience and knowledge, along with her caring heart opened doors to probationers they could have never accessed without her. I will miss her humor, her caring and effectiveness. What a blessing she was."

In addition to her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by her brother Charles Fisher Sr., sister Kathleen Walker, and niece Jessica Walker.

Surviving is her brother Robert (Dorothy) Fisher of Youngstown, OH; sister-in-law Debbie Fisher of Toronto; niece Jennifer (Rob) Welch of Richmond, OH; two nephews, Zachary (Danielle) Fisher of Wintersville, OH and Charles Fisher, Jr., and his son Robbie Fisher.

Visitation will be held Sunday February 13, 2022, from 1 PM to 4 PM at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto, where her funeral service will follow at 4 PM. Rev. Kevin Rinkes will officiate. www.jefosterfh.com
