Ruth W. Burriss 82 of Smithfield, Ohio died Thursday Nov. 18, 2004 in East Ohio Regional Hospital in Martins Ferry. Ruth was born Jan. 5, 1922 in Martins Ferry, Ohio daughter of the late Ross and Ruth Ella Scott Koon. Ruth was a Homemaker and was a member of the Smithfield United Methodist Church, The United Methodist Women's group of the Church, and was a former member and officer of the Smithfield Jr. and Sr. Women's Clubs. In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by; her Husband Dean Burriss; who passed away in June 2002; Two Sisters, Mary Morris and Betty Martin; One Brother, Ross Koon. Surviving are; Her Son, Gary Burriss and his wife Charlene of Stephens City, Va.,two Daughters; Debra (Michael ) Barron of Holly Springs, NC. and Pamela(Ronald) Ignac of Belmont, Ohio. A Sister, Virginia Cooper of Smithfield, Ohio and a Brother; Robert Koon of Wheeling. Grandchildren; James Burriss, Erin Wilt, Meghan Ignac, Colby Willetts, and Christopher Barron. One Great Grandchild; Alexander Martinez. There will be no visitation. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Ft. Steuben Burial Estates in Wintersville. J.E.
