Ruth M. Durbin, 92, of Rayland, OH, formerly of Mt. Pleasant, OH and Naples, FL, passed away Tuesday Aug. 12, 2014 in the Autumn Healthcare of Adena. Ruth was born June 7, 1922 in Woodsfield, OH, daughter of the late Ned and Helen Hall Smith. Ruth was a homemaker and a longtime member of the Mt. Pleasant Garden Club. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Thomas L. Durbin in 1998 and by two brothers Roscoe and Amos Smith. Surviving is her daughter Ruth (David) Williams of Rayland; twin granddaughters, Vanessa (Michael) Hamm of Fox Lake, IL and Valani (Mark) Brown of Bridgeport, OH, grandson Larry (Katie) Bertolino of Tappan Lake, OH, granddaughter Lindsay (Michael) Milton of Jacksonville, FL and; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Ann Brown of Tavares, FL and Eleanor Norris of Bridgeport, OH; four brothers, Ned Smith of Colerain, OH, Charles Smith of CA, John Smith of Parma Hgts., OH and Fred Smith of St. Clairsville, OH. Family and friends are invited to attend Ruth's committal service on Friday Aug. 15, 2014 at 11 am at Holly Memorial Gardens in the upper Chapel in Pleasant Grove, OH. Pastor Roger Wayne will officiate Ruth's Service. Ruth's arrangements are in the care of J. E. Foster Funeral Homes, Inc., 107 Hill St. in Smithfield, OH. Memorial donations may be made in Ruth's memory to the charity of the donor's choice.
