Ruth Elizabeth Fecik, 91, of Empire, OH, passed away Sunday July 20, 2014 in Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. Ruth was born Oct. 7, 1922 in Kings Mines, OH, daughter of the late Larry and Leora Crawford McElroy. Ruth worked for 63 years for Dr. Young in his office and she also worked for the Campbell Family for many years. She was Methodist by faith. In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, John Fecik, in 1989, her sister Maxine Lucas and her brother Foster McElroy. Surviving is her son John M. and his wife Myung Sook Yoon of Empire, OH; her sister Loretta Slifko of Zanesville, OH; her two brothers Larry L. McElroy of Cambridge, OH, and Ralph E. McElroy of New Concord, OH; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Wednesday July 23, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Homes, Inc., 701 Findley St. in Toronto where Funeral Services will be held on Thursday at 11am. John Keenan will officiate her service and burial will follow in Toronto Union Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
