Ruth I. Shane, 91, of Toronto, OH, passed away Wednesday June 15, 2016 in the Laurels of Steubenville, OH.

Ruth was born June 5, 1925 in New Somerset, OH, daughter of the late Clyde and Myrtle (Householder) Gearin.

She was co-owner for 60 years, with her husband Joe, of the Shane Plumbing & Heating Co. in Toronto.

Ruth was a member of the former Dennis Way Church of Christ in Toronto and she was presently a member of the Wellsburg Church of Christ. Ruth was a former volunteer dispatcher for TEMS, Inc. in Toronto.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph on May 12, 2005 and by two sisters, Helen Scott and Hazel Young.

Surviving is her daughter, Kathy Shane of Toronto; her three sons, Joseph C. (Connie) Shane of Cullman, AL, C. Scott (Ila) Shane of Meridian, MS and Jeff (Toni) Shane of Steubenville, OH; her nine grandchildren, Malissa (David) Freeman, Alisha (Scott) Throck Martin, Clay (Amy) Shane, Holly (Rob) Skinner, Bill (Laurie) Shane, Chris (Tara) Shane, Kristie Shane, Hope (Bill) Reese, Amanda (Tom) Burchfield and Michael (Desiree) Shane; 23 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren.

A graveside inurnment service will be held at Center Chapel Cemetery at the convenience of Ruths family. Her arrangements are in the care of the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto. www.jefosterfh.com.
