Ruth A. Verhovec, 73, of (Plum Run) Rayland, OH, passed away Saturday May 24, 2014 at her home.Ruth was born March 2, 1941 in Adena, OH, daughter of the late Augusta and Florence Nation Dagan. Ruth was a nurse's aide at the former Ohio Valley Hospital in Steubenville, OH. She was a member of the Hopedale Church of Christ. In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by an infant sister and three brothers, Jim, Harold and Wayne Dagan. Surviving is her husband, William Verhovec of their home; two sons, Greg (Barbara) Verhovec and Gary (Stacey) Verhovec both of Rayland; one brother, Jack Dagan of Martins Ferry, OH; four grandchildren, Greg, Audrianna, Joshua and Chelsee Verhovec. Visitation for Ruth will be held on Tuesday May 27, 2014 from 6-8 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Homes, Inc., 107 Hill St. Smithfield, OH, where Services will be held on Wednesday morning at 10 am. Rev. Dean Blythe will officiate and her burial will follow in New Alexandria Cemetery.
