Ruthora M. (Davis) Smith Kirkpatrick, 93, a resident of Lancia's Villa Vista in Steubenville, OH, peacefully passed away Friday December 16, 2011.The daughter of the late Clyde and Ruth (Montgomery) Davis, Ruthora was born July 6, 1918, in Steubenville, OH. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by first husband, Earl B. Smith who passed in 1955, her second husband, Howard Kirkpatrick who passed in 1981, her sister Virginia Davis who passed in 1980 and her great-granddaughter Victoria Jackson who passed in 2009.A protestant by faith, Ruthora was a member of the Hilltop Presbyterian Church. She started working in 1960 at the former Miners and Mechanics Savings and Trust as a teller in both Steubenville and Wintersville, also working as Christmas and vacation club manager, and at the time of her retirement in July 1982, as Personnel Director.Ruthora had a strong faith and a deep love for her family. She will be greatly missed yet fondly remembered by family and friends. Ruthora is survived by her sons and their wives, Glenn and Sandra Smith of Toronto, OH, and Bill and Carole Smith of Steubenville, OH; her grandchildren Chris Smith, Cindy (Doug) Parrott, David Smith, Dr. Glenna (Mark) Jackson, Bill (Lindy) Smith, Doug Smith, Brenda (Jim) Anderson, Judy (Rob) Davis, and Janet Hambelton; her great-grandchildren Stephanie, Katie, and Dan Parrott, Ethan Jackson, Jenna and Bill Smith, Brianna Zarych, Ted and Elizabeth Anderson, and Anthony, Jonathan, and Bethany Davis.Visitation for Ruthora will be held on Thursday, December 22 from 10am until the time of her service at 12pm noon at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto, OH with Rev. Robert Meyer officiating. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery in Steubenville, OH.
