Ryan A. Kontra, a loving father and son, 50, of Rayland, OH, passed away Saturday, November 15, 2025, at his home.

Ryan was born November 25, 1974, in Steubenville, OH, son of Ronald M. 'Zeke' Kontra and Renee Darlene (Lazear) Tarr.

Ryan formerly worked for AT&T, as a technician, and Mark West Energy in Cadiz, OH.

He was an avid hunter, and he loved to fish. Ryan was a member of both the Mingo & Rush Run Sportsman Clubs.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Ron Lazear, Sr., paternal grandparents, Mutzie and Myrtle Kontra and his trusted pet, RAK Dog.

Ryan is survived by his son, Kaden Kontra (Mackenzi Figley) and his daughter, Tristyn Kontra (fiancé Kolby Keyoski) all of Mingo Jct., OH; his mother, Renee (Fred) Tarr, his father and stepmother, Ronald 'Zeke' (Theresa) Kontra, all of Mingo Jct.; three sisters, Stacie and Tracie Kontra, of Smithfield, OH, and Nicole (Kevin) Cramblett of Adena, OH; maternal grandmother, Grace Lazear of (Plum Run) Rayland; his loyal dog Jax and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Ryan's wishes were to be cremated, with no public services being observed. His arrangements are in the care of J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Smithfield, OH.
