Samuel M. Gill Sr., 80, of Co. Rd. 56 Toronto, Ohio passed away Monday July 26, 2010 at Trinity Medical Center West in Steubenville, OH. Sam was born Sept. 25, 1929 in Jefferson Co. 16 Ridge, son of the late Charles and Eleanor Critser Gill. Sam retired from Weirton Steel Corp.,working as a welder and also a welding instructor. He was a life long member of the National Rifle Association NRA. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister Catherine Workman and his two brothers Charles and Clifford Gill. Surviving are his wife of 61 years Betty R. (Wayt) Gill, whom he married on Nov. 20, 1948, his children James C. (Virginia) Gill of Fla., Sandra E. Blischak of Va., and Samuel M.(Kathy) Gill Jr., of Richmond. Two sisters Donna (Ronald) Ferguson of Steubenville and Jacquelyn (Howard) Bowers Jr. of Bloomingdale.7 Grandchildren and 15 Great-grandchildren.Friends and family may call on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. at the J.
