Scott Allen Bates, 50, of Toronto, OH, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at the Trinity Medical Center West in Steubenville, OH.

Scott was born Dec. 1, 1970 in Steubenville, son of the late Clarence G. Benny Bates and Laura Mae (Bishop) Bates who survives.

Before moving back to Toronto, Scott spent 20 years in Alta Vista, KS, where he worked constructing pole buildings.

In addition to his father Benny, Scott was preceded in death by his son, William Francis Shreve and his brother, David L. Bates, Sr.

Scott leaves behind his mother, Laura Mae (Bishop) Bates of Toronto; daughter Brandi Feist of Toronto; sons Kayleb Bates and Tyler Cutone of Lakeland, FL; granddaughters, Kyleigh, Jordan and Alexis; his companion, Cindy Talamine of Toronto; three brothers, Daryl (Brenda) Bates of Clermont, FL, Jake (Julie) Bates and Bruce Bates both of Toronto; five sisters, Katherine (Jim) Smith of Toronto, Pam Liddick and companion Jeff of Alta Vista, KS, Nora Dibler and companion Bob Holmes, JoAnn (Dewey) Westbrook, Margaret Bates all of Toronto.

Scotts wishes were to be cremated with no services observed. His arrangements are in the care of the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto. www.jefosterfh.com
