Sheldon F. Cy Carnahan, 73 of Toronto, OH, passed away Saturday, May 7, 2016 in the Valley Hospice Care Center North in Steubenville, OH.

Sheldon was born Dec. 11, 1942 in Stratton, OH, son of the late Sheldon B. and Catherine B. (Racz) Carnahan.

He was retired from the Toronto Paper Board Co., where he worked as a mill wright-welder.

Sheldon was Catholic by faith and served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy L. Carnahan, in 2006.

Surviving is one son, Paul E. Carnahan of Pittsburgh, PA; three step-children, Donna (Gary) Switzer, Dave Libetti both of Steubenville and Shaun (Mickey) Libetti of Toronto; two brothers, William (Shirley) Carnahan of Toronto and Timothy (Carole) Carnahan of MI; seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening from 6-8 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home 701 Findley St. in Toronto. Wednesday morning, everyone will meet at Union Cemetery Chapel in Steubenville at 11 am for his Chapel Service. Father Bradley Greer will officiate. Military honors will be provided by the Toronto American Legion Post #86 and burial will follow.
