Shirley M. Baba Prosko, 80, of Stratton, OH, passed away Saturday, March 26, 2016 in the Valley Hospice Care Center North in Steubenville, OH.

Baba was born May 18, 1935 in Irondale, OH, daughter of the late Charles and Frances (Shepherd) James.

She was retired from the Jefferson Co. Health Dept. where she worked as the Head Nurse (RN). Baba was a member of the Stratton Church of the Nazarene, Women in Action Against Cancer Coalition (WIAACC) of Jefferson Co., the Stratton Senior Citizens, the Stanton Community Choir and the Ohio Valley School of Nursing Alumni Association.

Baba had a love for books and she created the Baba Goose Little Free Library Club in her home and shared it with everyone.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, John James.

Baba leaves behind her husband, Andrew Cab Prosko, Jr. whom she married Aug. 20, 1958; her three sons, Michael B. (Margaret) Prosko of Huntersville, NC, John Mark (Mary Ann) Prosko of Hanoverton, OH and Charles Andrew (Lora) Prosko of Farmington, WV; her daughter, Andrea J. (Jay) Hale of Richmond, OH; her grandchildren, Patti Corbin, Bill, Ruth and Emile Prosko, Andy Prosko, Jason and Crissa Daft, Johnna, Mariah and Farrah Marcino, Angela Oxtoby and Donny Racz. She also is survived by her eleven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Baba will be held on Tuesday, March 29 from 1-4 & 6-8 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto, OH. Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11 am at First Westminster Presbyterian Church in Steubenville. Additional visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 am til time of her service at 11 am. Rev. Jason Elliott will officiate the service and her burial will follow in Morningview Cemetery in Irondale, OH.
