Silvio R. Lanave, 81, of Toronto, OH, passed away Friday, February 25, 2011 in the Trinity Medical Center West in Steubenville, OH.Sil was born on June 19, 1929 in Toronto, OH, son of the late Nicola P. and Giovannia (DeFalco) Lanave.Sil was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Toronto, OH, he was a 1947 graduate of Toronto High School. Sil was a very avid golfer and loved fishing and was a member of Dyer Country Club in Toronto. He was retired from Ohio Edison, the Toronto Plant where he worked in the coal yard as a operator. Sil also served his country in the US Army.In addition to his parents Sil was preceded in death by his sister Tina Finamore and two brother-in-laws, Norman Graham and Edward Finamore.Sil is survived by his wife Carol (Lysle) Lanave of home whom he married on October 6, 1954; his two sons, Michael and his wife Jeanne of Wellsville, OH and Robert and his wife Shari of Elyria, OH; his sister Lucy Graham and his niece Ginny Lou Graham both of Toronto, OH. Sil is also survived by three grandchildren, Lori A. and her husband Brian Burse, Joseph Lanave and Christopher Lanave and his companion Amber Beabout and six great-grandchildren, Michael, Patrick, Adam and Daniel Burse and Devin and Gianna Lanave. Visitation for Sil will be held on Tuesday, March 1, 2011 from 2-4 and 6-9pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto, OH where there will Prayer Vigil at 3:45pm. Sil's Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be held on Wednesday at 10am at the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Toronto, OH, with a Prayer Service held Wednesday morning at 9:30am at the funeral home with Fr. Thomas Vennitti officiating. Burial will follow the Mass in Toronto Union Cemetery.Memorial donations may be made in Sil's memory to St. Joseph Catholic Church or the American Heart Association.
