Sophia Ann Slivenski, 85, of Piney Fork, OH, died Saturday, June 20, 2008 at East Ohio Regional Hospital in Martins Ferry, OH.Sophia was born on January 1, 1924 in Blaine, OH, daughter of the late George and Mary (Hardobay) Horvath.In addition to her parents, Sophia was preceded in death by two brothers, George and John Horvath and two sisters, Ann McCallister and Mary Lojszczyk.Sophia was a member of St. Casimir Catholic Church in Adena, OH and a member of the Senior Citizen Group of Smithfield, OH and the Piney Fork American Legion Auxiliary. Sophia is survived by her husband of 59 years, Joseph Slivenski, her daughter Dianne (Charles) Hughes of Yorkville, OH, her son Daniel (Gina) Slivenski of Steubenville, OH, and granddaughter Jessica (Coy) Sudvary of Steubenville, OH and great-granddaughter Arabel, brother Mike of Dayton, OH, sister in law Agnes Horvath of Bridgeport, OH and several nieces and nephews.Family and friends will be received at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Smithfield, OH from 4-8pm on Tuesday, June 23 where Rosary Devotions will be held at 4:30pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 24 at 11am at St. Casimir Church in Adena, OH with Msgr. John Kolesar as celebrant. There will be additional visitation from 9:30am til 10:15am on Wednesday morning at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Northern Cemetery in Smithfield, OH. www.jefosterfh.com
