Sophie V. Cervenak, 87, of Steubenville, OH, passed away Saturday Feb. 4, 2012 in the Carriage Inn in Steubenville, OH. Sophie was born December 13, 1924 in Steubenville, OH, daughter of the late Frank and Sophie Klonowski Aleksiejczyk. Sophie was a homemaker and was Catholic by faith. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband John Cervenak who passed in 1975 and her brother Joseph Aleksiejczyk. Surviving are her son John A. Cervenak of Steubenville, OH; her daughter Charlotte A. Cervenak of Cleveland, OH; three brothers Edward Alex of Steubenville, OH, Frank (Lee) Alex of Mingo Jct., OH, and Stanley Alex of Toronto, OH. Sophie is also survived by her grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Visitation for Sophie will be on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 from 10 am til the time of the her Service at 11 am, at the J.E. Foster Funeral Homes, Inc. 701 Findley St. Toronto, OH. Father Thomas Vennetti will officiate and burial will follow in Toronto Union Cemetery.
