Stanley F. Alex, 96, of Toronto, OH, passed away Saturday, May 19, 2012 in the Carriage Inn of Steubenville. Stan was born April 27, 1916, son of the late Frank and Sophia (Klonoski) Alex. Stan was a member of St. Francis Roman Catholic Church in Toronto, OH; he was retired from Ohio Edison First Energy Sammis Plant where he worked in Operations. In addition to his parents, Stan was preceded in death by his wife, Regina (Kowalsky) Alex who passed away in 1975, his brother Joseph Alex and his sister Sophia Cervenak.Stan is survived by his son, Stan Alex and his wife Pam of Toronto, OH; two grandchildren, Todd Alex of Chillicothe, OH and Kimberly (Alex) Manning and her husband Dave of Toronto, OH; three great-grandchildren Michael, Ryan and Chayse; two brothers Edward Alex of Steubenville, OH and Frank (Lee) Alex of Mingo Jct., OH.Visitation for Stan will be held on Tuesday, May 22 from 6-9pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto, OH, where Stan's Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 10:30am. Pastor Kevin Rinkes will officiate the Service and burial will follow in Toronto Union Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the THS Band Uniform Fund c/o Toronto High School 300 Myers St. Toronto, OH 43964.
