Stanley E. Alex, 73, of Toronto, OH, passed away Wednesday Aug. 10, 2022, in the UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.

Stan was born May 9, 1949, in Steubenville, OH, son of the late Stanley F. and Regina (Kowalski) Alex.

Stan was a 1967 graduate of Toronto High School, and he earned his education degree from West Liberty State College. He went on to teach at Steubenville City Schools for 38 years before his eventual retirement.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Toronto. Stan enjoyed coaching T-Ball and Girls Softball; he loved American History, the Ohio University Bobcats Marching 110, and watching his grandsons march in the Steubenville Big Red Band. He was also an avid Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers Fan.

In addition to his parents, Stan was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Harry Graham.

Surviving is his wife, Pamela A. (Graham) Alex, whom he married Sept. 30, 1972; son, Todd (Anji) Alex of Chillicothe, OH; daughter, Kimberly (David) Manning of Toronto; mother-in-law, Anne Graham of Toronto; five grandchildren, Haylee, Michael, Chayse, Ryan and Ronnie.

Visitation will be held Saturday Aug. 13, 2022, from 1 pm to 4 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto with additional visitation on Sunday from 12 noon until the time of his funeral service at 1 pm. Rev. Kevin Rinkes and Pastor Ron Dixon will co-officiate the service.
