Stanley Hranek, USMC. Ret., 82, of Steubenville, OH, passed away peacefully, July 21, 2010 at 3:10am after a lengthy illness, in the Valley Hospice Care Center North in Steubenville, OH. Stanley was born on December 9, 1927 in Endicott, NY son of the late John and Mary (Mahchek) Hranek. Stan was also preceded in death by his son, Joseph and five brothers and three sisters.Stanley and his wife Mary Ann (Valenta) have resided in Steubenville since 1987, when they moved here upon Stan's retirement from the United States Marine Corps after 32 years of active duty.In addition to his wife, Stan is also survived by his 11 children, son Gerard of Seattle, WA, son John of Sun City, CA, son Mike of Los Angeles, CA, son Mark of Wickenburg, AZ, son Martin (Kelli) of Escondido, CA, daughter Margaret (Steven) Doe of Fairfield, VT, son Christopher of Jacksonville, FL, daughter Madre Carol Rose, RSCJ of Florence, Italy, son Anthony of Encinitas, CA, son James of Ewing Twp, NJ, son M/Sgt. Jeffrey, USMC, of Oceanside, CA; his twin brother Stephen of Phoenix, AZ, his sister June of Endicott, NY. Stan is also survived by 22 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.Stanley was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Steubenville, the American Legion and also the VFW.Visitation for Stan will be held on Sunday, July 25 from 2-4 and 6-8 at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home, 701 Findley St., Toronto, OH where a Vigil service will be held at 7:30pm. There will also be visitation on Monday from 9am up until the time of the Mass at 10am at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Steubenville, OH with Msgr. George W. Yontz officiating. Burial will follow in Mt.
