Stanley J. Ohalek, Jr., 88, of Toronto, OH, passed away Thursday, Dec. 28, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family.

Stan was born July 25, 1929 in Weirton, WV, son of the late Stanley J. Ohalek, Jr. and Mary (Kosut) Ohalek Freshour.

He was retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. where he worked as a crane man in the B.O.F.

Stan was a Veteran of the US Army having served his country in the Korean War. He was a member of St. Francis Roman Catholic Church in Toronto and the Toronto American Legion Post #86.

In addition to his parents, Stan was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Frankie and a sister, Mary Ann Cipcic.

Stan leaves behind his wife, Maryann P. (Jablonski) Ohalek whom he married April 7, 1951; his children, Gregory Ohalek, David (Beth) Ohalek and Tammi (John) Romey all of Toronto and Derek (Amy) Ohalek of Youngstown, OH; his two brothers, Ron (Dawn) Ohalek and Ricky Ohalek both of Weirton; his sister, Blance Babela-Traubert of Wintersville, OH; his sister-in-law, Shirley Ohalek of Wintersville; his 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2018 from 4:30 7:30 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto. His Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be held Wednesday at 10 am at St. Francis Church. Fr. Thomas Vennitti will celebrate and his burial will be held at the convenience of his family.

There will be additional viewing on Wednesday in the rear of the church from 9:15 am til Mass at 10am. Following the Mass the Toronto American Legion will present Military Honors. Memorial donations may be directed to St. Francis Catholic Church 1225 N. River Ave. Toronto, OH 43964.
