Stephanie J. (Whalen) Heckathorn, 49, of Hickory, NC, formerly of Toronto, OH, passed away peacefully in her sleep in her home on Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2013.Stephanie was born on June 4, 1964 in Steubenville, OH, daughter of James B. and Mary Ann Vosvick Whalen of Toronto, OH.She was a 1982 graduate of Toronto High School. Her family and friends cherished the time they had with her and will miss her greatly.In addition to her parents Jim and Mary Ann Whalen, Stephanie leaves behind her daughters, Ashley (Derick) Reid of Steubenville, OH and Natalie Heckathorn and her fiancAC. Dave Porter of Hickory, NC; her grandson Dexter Reid and her sister Susan (Tom) Pytash of Toronto, OH and her beloved cat Snowy. Friends and family are invited to attend Stephanie's Memorial Service which will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 30 at 7 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto, OH with Rev. Robert Hanze officiating. There will be visiting hours from 5:30 til the time of her service at 7. Her burial will be held at the convenience of her family.
