Steve A. Savchak 88 of Bradley, Ohio a devoted Husband and Father passed away Thursday April 28, 2005 in the Rosewood Manor Nursing Home in Yorkville. Steve was born Nov. 9, 1916 in Versailles, Pa. son of the late Stephen and Ann Sue Sotak Savchak. Steve was a retired welder for Hanna Coal Co., was an Avid Farmer and Gardener. He is a member of Our lady Queen Of Peace Catholic Church in Smithfield, AARP, Dillonvale Sr. Citizens, Dillonvale American Legion McCook Post # 529, The Jefferson County Farm Bureau and is a U.S. Army Veteran of W.W. II. Surviving are his wife; Jeanette ( Bartek ) Savchak, whom he married on Oct. 12, 1946;Two Daughters, Beverly ( Jerry ) Crist of Columbus, Janice ( Greg ) Blower of Athens; Four Granddaughters, Heather and Erica Crist, Amanda ( Bryan ) Price and Andrea McDaniels. Two Step-Grandsons, Thomas and John Blower . Two Sisters; Mary Parise of Mingo Jct. , Ann Venci of Wintersville and many nieces and nephews. A special thanks to the staff of the Rosewood Manor in Yorkville. Friends and family may call on Sunday evening from 4 - 8 pm. at the J. E. Foster Funeral Home, Inc. 107 Hill St. Smithfield. Vigil service will begin at 8:00 pm. Sunday Evening. On Monday a Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be held at 10:00 am. at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church in Smithfield. Father Thomas Kozak will be the Celebrant and Burial will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens in Pleasant Grove. A Full Military Service will be conducted on Monday morning around 9:20 am. at the Funeral Home by the Dillonvale American Legion McCook Post # 529.
