TABOR, Steve William, 72, died in Columbus on Monday, May 9, surrounded by his family.He was born July 1, 1938, in Marion, Ky., to John Edward and Verna Belle (Campbell) Tabor. Steve served in the U.S. Army, Military Police Division, stationed at Fort Gordon in Augusta, Ga.On Sept. 5, 1959 Steve married Helen Elizabeth (Buff) Bundy to whom he was married for 40 years. For most of his life he lived in Jefferson County on the Tabor Family Farm, which he established on July 1, 1972.Steve worked at Titanium Metals Corporation until retiring in 1995 with nearly 40 years of service. He was a member of Hilltop United Presbyterian Church and the Masonic Lodge.Steve is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Guy Smith of Norwalk, Ohio, son and daughter-in-law, Adam and Heather (Vandeborne) Tabor of Columbus, Ohio, grandchildren, Isaac, Zane and Quentin Smith and Benjamin and Jenna Tabor, sister, Mary John Caudill of Sunbury, Ohio and four nieces and two nephews. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Floene Bonitati and Nancy Laibach Jennings.A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday May 14th at Hilltop United Presbyterian Church, 110 Co. Rd. 46, Toronto, OH 43964. Burial will be at the Tabor Family Farm on a later date.Memorial contributions may be made to the Hilltop United Presbyterian Church.
