Susan M. Buckham, 66, of Toronto, OH, passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2018 in the Trinity West Medical Center in Steubenville, OH.

Sue was born Dec. 9, 1951 in Steubenville. She was the daughter of the late Edward H. and Lois Mae (Armitage) Buckham.

Sue was retired teacher with 33 years of service. She retired from the Toronto City School District where she was a Fifth Grade Teacher at the former S.C. Dennis School. During her teaching career at Toronto, she coached Cheerleading for 21 years and Track and Field.

She also was retired from the City of Toronto where she had over 40 years of service at the Toronto Pool serving as a life guard in her early years to retiring as the Pool Manager.

Sue was a member of the St. Francis Roman Catholic Church in Toronto. She was a 1969 graduate of Toronto High School and she earned her Bachelors Degree in Education from West Liberty State College. Sue was also a member of the Ohio Beta Alpha chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa.

Sue leaves behind her sister, Sandra (Art) Streb of Pittbsurgh, PA; her brother, Edward (Michelle) Buckham of Toronto; her nieces, Nicole (Bryan) Hite and Mindy Hale; her nephews, Marlon (Missy) Hale, Marcus Hale and Michael Streb. Sue is also survived by her cousins, numerous great-nieces and great-nephews and one great-great-nephew.

Family and friends will be received on Monday, May 21 from 2-7 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto. Her Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday at 11 am at the funeral home with Fr. Thomas Vennitti officiating. Burial will follow in Ft. Steuben Burial Estates in Wintersville, OH.
