Thelma M. Parrish, 85, of Martins Ferry, OH, formerly of the Smithfield, OH area, passed away Tuesday July 2, 2019 in the Cumberland Pointe Care Center in St. Clairsville, OH.

Thelma was born April 1, 1934 in Mingo Jct., OH, daughter of the late Milton and Margaret (Burdick) Lathem.

She was a former caregiver and a homemaker. Thelma was a member of the Meadowbrook Church of God in Rayland, OH.

In addition to her parents, Thelma was preceded in death by her husband, William in 1988, an infant daughter, Melissa in 1969 and four brothers, Glenn, Donald, Milton and Robert Lathem.

Surviving is her son, William Oscar (Janice) Parrish of Dillonvale, OH; her daughter, Virginia Wright of Martins Ferry; two sisters, Margaret Bice and Gwenn Reynard both of Dillonvale and her brother, Walt (Betty) Lathem of TX; 7 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter.

Thelmas Funeral Service will be held Friday, July 5 at 1 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Smithfield. There will be visitation from 11 am 1 pm. Rev. Marvin Schooler will officiate and burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Hopedale, OH.
