THOMAS HENRY BEATTY, 83 of Toronto, Ohio passed away Tuesday Oct. 26, 2010 in the Dixon Health Care Center in Wintersville.Tom was Born May 7, 1927 in Wellsville, Ohio, son of the late Dudley and Edna (Jarvis) Beatty.A 1945 graduate of Toronto High School and played football all four years. After graduation, he enlisted in the Navy. From Boot Camp he was sent to the Philippines for one year. Tom enjoyed farming with his Uncle from a very young age through High School. His love for farming remained with him. He enjoyed Hollow Rock Campground all of his life. He helped build homes in Titusville, Florida in 1947 and 1948. In the 50's and 60's he worked part time with Simspon and Evans Realtor, and later with Abe Pearlman Realtor. In the late 60's he built his wife a Beauty Shop in Toronto. In 1970 he started Mannini's Pizza Shop with his partner Vince Mannini. Tom retired from Titanium Metals Corp. after 33 years of employment. He enjoyed sailing for many years at Guilford Lake and taught others at their request. He helped organize Young Life for our teens in Toronto. For many years he taught the Faithful Followers Adult Sunday School Class at the Toronto First United Methodist Church, which he enjoyed very much. He was a friend to many. His favorite saying "If you can't say something nice about a person, don't say anything." He always believed in helping others, whether physically or financially. He always valued hard work in himself and others. He was a man of action and few words. The example of a life well lived was exemplified in his service to his country, church, community, friends and family. He will be missed by many. His membership included Toronto First United Methodist Church, and the Adult Faithful Followers Sunday School Class, which he very much enjoyed. Preceded in death by his parents Dudley and Edna (Jarvis) Beatty and Brother Coit Dudley Beatty.Tom is Survived by his wife of 63 years, Charlene Andrews Beatty, and daughter Linda and son Dudley. Friends and Family may call on Friday Oct. 29th., from 4 pm. to 8 pm., at the J. E. Foster Funeral Homes, Inc. 701 Findley St. Toronto, Ohio; where Services will be held on Saturday Oct. 30th., at 2:00 pm. Rev.
