Thomas A. Tucker Hannan, Sr., 81, of Toronto, OH, passed away at his home surrounded by his family.
Tucker was born August 15, 1934 in Toronto, son of the late Thomas J. and Ellen (Templey) Hannan.
He was retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. where he worked as a Boiler Operator and served as a Knox Twp. Trustee for 25 yrs.
Tucker was a member of St. Francis Roman Catholic Church in Toronto, the Toronto American Legion Post #86, where he was a past commander and he was one of the original members of the nationally famous Color Guard and Drill Team the TOR-VETS. For over 25 yrs. he was active in the Toys for Toronto organization and an avid Notre Dame Football fan.
Tucker was a Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp. having served his country in the Korean War.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Mary Ellen DeLuce and Catherine Cappie Yasho; his brothers, David, Patsy and Jack and his grandson, Ryan Newbold.
Tucker leaves behind his wife, Carolyn (Wilson) Hannan whom were married on Nov. 13, 1953; his three sons, Douglas (Susette) Hannan, Thomas A. Jr. and his companion Kim Kelley and John (Mona) Hannan all of Toronto; his daughter, Holly (Bill) Newbold of Toronto; his three sisters, Marge (Jack) Peterson of Spartanburg, SC, Betty Schiappa of Steubenville, OH and Nancy (Brady) Householder of Richmond, OH; his nine grandchildren, Jamie Decker, Shanlee Hannan, Josh Hannan, Adam Hannan, Luke and JD Hannan, Krissy (Mike) Stratton and Bill Newbold. Tucker also is survived by twelve great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Tucker will be held on Tuesday Feb. 16, 2016 from 4-7 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home 701 Findley St. in Toronto. His funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11:30 am at the funeral home with Fr. Thomas Vennitti officiating. Burial will follow in Toronto Union Cemetery and Military Graveside Honors will be provided by the Toronto American Legion.
