Thomas Benjamin Dent Hill, better known as “Ben”, 52 years young, passed away Thursday, August 20, 2026, at his home in Tiltonsville, OH.

Ben was born to Thomas Harry Hill and Madelyn Alberta Mae (McEwen) Hill in Steubenville, OH, on October 18, 1973.

He was a graduate of Edison North High School. He was very skilled with his hands and worked most recently as a self-employed contractor and auto repairman.

Ben loved fishing and was often found along the Ohio River near Pike Island Dam. He was proud to have hooked a couple paddlefish—large, ancient freshwater fish native to the Mississippi River Basin.

In addition to his parents, Tom and “Cate” of Unionport, OH, Ben leaves behind two sons, Steven Lee Hill of Mingo Jct., OH, and Benjamin Harry “Benny” Hill and wife Athena of Wintersville, OH; three sisters, Darla Sue Bingiel and husband Jim of Follansbee, WV, Donna Wilson and husband Chuck of Toronto, OH, and Rachel Westbrook and husband Randy of Empire, OH, along with several loving grandchildren.

Ben’s services will be private, with arrangements entrusted to J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto.
