Thomas E. Kourim, 87, of Tiltonsville, Ohio passed away Sunday Aug. 16, 2009 in the Valley Hospice Care Center North in Steubenville.Tom was born Feb. 22, 1922 in Bradley, Ohio, son of the late Jerry and Thelma Cooper Kourim. He was a retired railroad conductor for Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp., was a protestant by faith and was a W.W. II U.S. Army Veteran. In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his 1st wife Peggy in 1996 and by his 2nd wife April Jean Kourim in 2000, a sister Betty Verhovec and two brothers William and Jerry Kourim Jr. Surviving are his children, Sharon (Dr. Keith) Wise of St. Louis, MI., Denise Roush of Wellsburg, Philip (Jeri) Kourim of Baltimore, Ohio, Rodger Kourim of Coral Springs, Fl., David Coulter of Ravenna, John (Crystal) Coulter Mannington, W.Va., Brenda (Charles) Beck of Toronto. Two brothers, Kenneth (Carol) Kourim of Smithfield and Jack Kourim of Brilliant. 22 Grandchildren and 5 Great-Grandchildren. Friends and family may call on Wednesday Aug. 19th. from 2-4 and 7-9 pm., at the J. E. Foster Funeral Home, Inc., 107 Hill St. Smithfield, where Services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 am. Dr. Keith Wise, Senior Minister at the St. Louis, MI., Church of Christ will officiate his service. Burial will be at the convenience of Tom's family.
