Thomas Eugene Sapp, 86, formerly of Knoxville, OH, passed away Sunday, July 4, 2010 at his home in Lisbon, OH.Eugene was born May 7, 1924 in Knoxville, OH, son of the late Joseph M. and Alta Ruth (Swickard) Sapp. Eugene was a self-employed farmer and a retired school bus driver. He also was a 4-H advisor for 25 years with his wife Marylee; he was a Charter member of the Jefferson Ruritan; he had been an active member of Hilltop Presbyterian Church, Knox Township Grange and the Jefferson County Farm Bureau.In addition to his parents, Eugene was preceded in death by his first wife of 53 years Marylee E. Barnhouse Sapp; his brother Joseph Paul Sapp; his sister Esther E. Shew and infant sister Eleanor E. Sapp.Eugene is survived by his wife Audrey (Sterrett) Pittenger Sapp of home; his daughters, Earlene (John) McGonegal of Bath, OH, Carolyn (Rex) Pritchard of Dover, OH, Paula (Albert) Brehm of Richmond, OH; his son, Tom (Karen) Sapp of New Waterford, OH his daughters Jodi Sapp of Wadsworth, OH, and Jeannie (Joe) Fiori of Midland, MI. Eugene also leaves behind 10 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.Visitation for Eugene will be held on Sunday, July 11, from 1-3 pm. at the Salem First Friends Church, 1028 Jennings Ave, Salem, OH and again from 6-8 pm. at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home, 701 Findley St., in Toronto, OH where there will be a Ruritan service at 7:30pm. Eugene's funeral service will be held on Monday, July 12, at 10 am. at the Hilltop Presbyterian Church in Toronto, OH with the Rev. Robert Meyer and Rev. John Pierce officiating. Burial will follow in Island Creek Cemetery in Toronto. Memorial donations may be made in Eugene's memory to: Ohio 4-H Foundation, Hospice of the Valley or Jefferson Ruritans.
