Thomas E. Wade, 80, of Smithfield, OH, passed away Saturday Jan. 11, 2014 in the Sienna Hills Nursing Home in Pleasant Grove, OH.Tom was born Oct. 11, 1933 in Richmond, OH, son of the late Earl and Catherine Blackburn Wade Baker. Tom was retired from Jefferson County Friendship Park. Tom over the years worked at Consol Coal Co., Spahn's Dairy and the Street and Water Dept. for the Village of Smithfield. He also served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his wife Elaine Carmichael Wade, who passed away on July 20, 2001. Surviving are his children, sons William T. "Bill" and his wife Patricia of AZ, Larry D. and wife Karen of AR, James A. and wife Connie of TN; daughters Tonnie and husband Wally Heckathorn of GA, Joyce A. Van Dyke of Smithfield and Vera and husband Carlos Redhead of FL; his sister Mary A. Scaffidi of Mingo Jct. and 15 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.Private family graveside services were held at New Alexandria Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of J.E.
